Renascence Bulldogs

By crossing American Bulldogs with Bullmastiffs, English Bulldogs, Old Family Red-Nosed Pitbulls, English Mastiffs, and Hermes Bulldogs in the late 20th century, Chadde JoliCoeur sought to recreate the legendary working British Bulldogs of the 1800s. While some speculate that Rottweilers were used, this remains unconfirmed. The Renascence Bulldog is bred to a consistent standard and, though still rare, is slowly gaining recognition. With the help of fellow bully enthusiast Jody Willingham, JoliCoeur established the Renascence Bulldogs Kennel Club, which enforces strict breeding regulations to promote the breed’s future. Protective and territorial, the Renascence Bulldog excels as a property guardian and personal protection dog. It is playful and friendly with familiar people but reserved with strangers. Athletic, intelligent, and healthy, this powerful Molosser thrives on an active lifestyle and is highly trainable.

The Renascence Bulldogge is muscular, strongly-boned and nicely proportioned, having a large head with powerful jaws and a massive neck and body. Although a docked tail is preferred, those left in their natural state are also accepted.

The coat is short, flat and smooth, coming in a range of typical bully colors, from white to fawn to black, with or without brindling and tan or white markings.

Average height is around 20 inches.
